Great North Run

24th September 2019

Andrew Sutton and Mike McCann both completed the Great North Run on September 8th.  Heres what they both had to say
Andrew, a consultant at James Cook University hospital said “I wanted to take up some formal exercise again about 18 months ago, running seemed to fit in best with a very busy job. Things seemed to be OK from a knee point of view, so after a few Parkruns I felt I could challenge myself to run further, with the added bonuses of raising some money and completing a half marathon to mark my 50th birthday. Middlesbrough Foodbank was an obvious charity to support – it is local, does great, practical work with measurable results and my wife, Wendy, is a Trustee.
I’ve had great support from work colleagues in particular, some of whom were also running for other causes. The day itself was great, with a fantastic atmosphere and lots of people giving their all. I was delighted to finish in a whisker under 2hrs and would probably do it all again if pushed!”

Mike Mccann said This year I am raising funds for Middlesbrough Foodbank. Sadly, we live in a society where Foodbanks are a necessity and it has been my privilege to have been involved as a Trustee since its inception in 2012.

Thank you to both of them for chosing to run and raise money for us, between them they raised a staggering £2169.03

There is still time to sponsor them https://www.give.net/GNR2019MikeMcCann/fundraising.
